Sirens Spell Danger

Sirens Spell Danger is my debut in the published world. It is an anthology of three crime thrillers in which the second story – Bella Dona – has been written by me. The other two stories are ‘Bellary’, by Karthik L and ‘Femme Fatale’, by C Suresh, who is also the Editor of the book. You can buy the book on Amazon and find some of the rave reviews on Goodreads.Sirens Spell Danger

Excerpts

… Even when I was feeling so angry I could not help noticing her. Her voice was low, sweet and musical and not the husky temptress’ voice of the bar. Her hair was drawn back in a ponytail and she was dressed in an unfashionably loose pair of black jeans and a pink shirt. The high heels had given way to sports shoes. None of that could obscure her beauty and I was still attracted to her despite the gun that she was pointing at my face as she stepped into the room and closed the door.

– C Suresh in Femme Fatale

When you want to wake up somebody, you call his name, caress his forehead and keep telling him to wake up till he is awake.

However, when somebody is unconscious, you splash him with water, you slap his face and you shake him till he comes back to his senses.

What do you do, then, when somebody is dead inside? How do you bring him back? How do you blow life into him?

How do you make him feel alive, when somebody has already cremated his soul?

– Radha Sawana in Bella Dona

“One bald head, one moustache and four school boys, eh?” Wham! Bam! Slam! Before anyone knew what had happened the six roughs were flat on the ground. The whole theater erupted into applause and whistles as Rajinikant threw up his cigarette and caught it in his lips in his typical style. The claps slowly died out and the theater began to fade. It turned dark and he felt the rumbling sensation of being in motion. The sound of whistles, though, still persisted. But the tune had changed. He also heard some voices.

“Look at that piece, man. What a figure!”

It was followed by loud guffaws. Then he heard a female voice, “Get the hell out of here or I shall call the Ticket Collector.”

– Karthik L in Bellary
